Volleyball Recap: Pequot Lakes Takes a Loss

If Pequot Lakes was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Staples-Motley on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Patriots took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Foley Falcons on Friday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Falcons earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

While Pequot Lakes had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 24-26, 25-19, 25-18.

Leading Foley to victory were Carly Hackett and Gracelynn Zimmer. Hackett had 17 digs and two assists, while Zimmer had 17 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Zimmer has posted since back in September.

Pequot Lakes' defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Foley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Pequot Lakes does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Foley, they will head out on the road to take on Albany at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
