Baseball Recap: Beatrice Has No Trouble Against Plattsmouth

Beatrice never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Plattsmouth Blue Devils 10-0. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Orangemen considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Ty Weichel was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because Beatrice is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-6 otherwise. Austin Baldwin was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Beatrice was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .524. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Beatrice's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-6. As for Plattsmouth, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-4 record.

Coming up, Beatrice will head out on the road to challenge Yutan/Mead/Ashland-Greenwood at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Plattsmouth, they will be taking part in a tournament against Rock Port at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Jays will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Blue Devils surely won't give up without a fight.
