Volleyball Recap: Petal's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

If Petal was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of West Jones on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Panthers came up short against the Purvis Tornadoes on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Panthers were not able to get on the board.

While Petal had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-18, 25-23.

Having lost for the first time this season, Petal fell to 5-1. As for Purvis, the victory was the 11th in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Petal will square off against Poplarville at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Purvis, they will head out on the road to challenge George County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
