Basketball Game Preview: Doniphan Dons vs. Twin Rivers Royals

Doniphan and Twin Rivers are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Doniphan Dons will be playing at home against the Twin Rivers Royals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Doniphan is headed into the game having just suffered their biggest loss since February 20, 2024 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Puxico 65-36. The contest marked the Dons' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Meanwhile, Twin Rivers didn't have too much trouble with Senath-Hornersville on Tuesday as they won 62-44.

Twin Rivers' win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.9 points per game. As for Doniphan, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Doniphan couldn't quite finish off Twin Rivers when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 62-60. Can Doniphan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
