Softball Recap: Wednesday's Loss Ends Somerset Academy South Homestead's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Somerset Academy South Homestead unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Gulliver Prep Raiders by a score of 11-10. The Hurricanes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Raiders earlier this season, when they won 14-11.

Isabella Azevedo was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Mia Santiago, who scored a run and stole three bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Somerset Academy South Homestead's record now sits at 7-3. As for Gulliver Prep, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Somerset Academy South Homestead will head out to challenge Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cyclones will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Hurricanes surely won't give up without a fight. As for Gulliver Prep, they will head out on the road to square off against Marathon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
