Basketball Recap: Villa Grove Comes Up Short

Villa Grove lost against Arcola back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Villa Grove Blue Devils had to suffer through a 50-17 loss at the hands of the Arcola Purple Riders. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.

This is the second loss in a row for Villa Grove and nudges their season record down to 3-13. As for Arcola, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Villa Grove and Georgetown-Ridge Farm will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Arcola, they will square off against Arthur-Okaw Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arthur-Okaw Christian will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Arcola surely won't give up without a fight.
