Union Grove Christian took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2024, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They really took it to Asheboro Hybrid Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-27 win. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-17.

It was another big night for Colin Wykes, who went 9 for 14 on his way to 22 points in addition to six assists and four steals. His evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Trinkle, who posted eight points along with eight assists and five steals.
Wykes wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Union Grove Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Cramerton Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The contest between them and Alamance Christian didn't end well, with Cramerton Christian Academy falling 49-30. While losing is never fun, the Crusaders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Warriors are ranked 101st).
Union Grove Christian will have to keep a close watch on Carter Hewitt and Brayden Johnson, a pair of players who had a big impact on Cramerton Christian Academy's prior game. Hewitt put up six points and ten boards, while Johnson posted nine points. What's more, Johnson also racked up two blocks, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Union Grove Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Cramerton Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Union Grove Christian has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 24.8 boards per game. However, it's not like Cramerton Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 32.9 boards. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
