Preview: Chesterfield Golden Rams vs. Buford Yellowjackets
Chesterfield has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Buford Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Buford took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Chesterfield, who comes in off a win.
Chesterfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 26 points or more this season. They really took it to Anson for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-28 win on the road. Given Chesterfield's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 40th in South Carolina, while Anson is ranked 502nd in North Carolina), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Chesterfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kierra Diggs led the charge by dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Diggs has scored at least 25% of Chesterfield's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrahjah Robinson, who scored 15 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Buford ended up a good deal behind Lewisville on Friday and lost 33-16.
Chesterfield's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Buford, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
