Basketball Game Preview: East Central Hornets vs. Clemens Buffaloes

East Central is 2-8 against Clemens since February of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The East Central Hornets will host the Clemens Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. East Central knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 games -- so hopefully Clemens likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, East Central earned an 80-67 victory over Johnson. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Jaguars are ranked 534th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clemens entered their tilt with Johnson on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 79-40 win over the Jaguars.

East Central is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Clemens, their victory bumped their record up to 20-11.

East Central strolled past Clemens in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 58-44. Does East Central have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clemens turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
