Baseball Game Preview: Riverside Beavers vs. Kenston Bombers

The Riverside Beavers will venture away from home to square off against the Kenston Bombers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Kenston took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Riverside, who comes in off a win.

Riverside lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Chardon, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Beavers blew past the Hilltoppers 8-2 on Saturday. The Beavers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Kenston came up short against Archbishop Hoban on Saturday, falling 10-1. The loss continues a trend for the Bombers in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost three in a row.

Kenston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joey Artale, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Riverside pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 10.8 runs this season. As for Kenston, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Riverside came out on top in a nail-biter against Kenston when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 12-11. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
