Volleyball Game Preview: Rampart Rams vs. Legacy Lightning

The Rampart Rams will head out on the road to square off against the Legacy Lightning at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Rampart is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Fountain-Fort Carson, who was ranked 15th at the time (Rampart was ranked ninth). Rampart fell just short of Fountain-Fort Carson by a score of 3-2 on Thursday.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Rampart lost were decided by three points or less. The final score came out to 27-25, 20-25, 11-25, 25-22, 15-12.

Meanwhile, Legacy put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Pomona 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Legacy took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-4, 25-11, 25-9.

Rampart now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Legacy, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Rampart came up short against Legacy in their previous meeting on Saturday, falling 2-0. Can Rampart avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
