Basketball Game Preview: Mohawk Mustangs vs. Mapleton Sailors

Mohawk is 9-1 against Mapleton since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Mohawk Mustangs will take on the Mapleton Sailors at 7:00 p.m. Mohawk will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Last Monday, Mohawk got the win against Glendale by a conclusive 49-26. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Mapleton was beaten by Reedsport 54-13 on Monday. The game marked the Sailors' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Mohawk has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.0 points per game. As for Mapleton, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Mohawk skirted past Mapleton 30-27 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Will Mohawk repeat their success, or does Mapleton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
