Syracuse was the 2-0 winner over Lourdes Central Catholic when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rockets took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights on Thursday. The Rockets' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Syracuse ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18.

Audrey Liesemeyer paced Syracuse's offense, picking up seven kills. Liesemeyer got some help from Ava Mohr and her 20 assists. Mohr was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Syracuse's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Syracuse wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Lincoln Lutheran on the 29th. As for Lourdes Central Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lewiston on the 30th.
