Basketball Recap: Jefferson Panthers vs. White Sulphur Springs Hornets
The Jefferson Panthers stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They really took it to White Sulphur Springs for the full four quarters, racking up a 66-30 victory at home. The win was familiar territory for Jefferson who now have three in a row.
Jefferson's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hunter Stevens, who scored 13 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Noble, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Jefferson's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.7 points per game. As for White Sulphur Springs, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-15.
Jefferson will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Broadwater has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9. As for White Sulphur Springs, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Falcons at 5:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Montana (Twin Bridges is ranked 159th, while the Hornets are ranked 165th).
