West Islip's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Deer Park Falcons 6-5. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Angelina Esposito, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Giana, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

West Islip was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

West Islip's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Deer Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Looking ahead, West Islip will look to defend their home field on Monday against Plainedge at 4:45 p.m. As for Deer Park, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Islip at 4:00 p.m. on May 8.
