Football Recap: George Washington Starts off Right with Win over Vista Ridge

George Washington gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They walked away with an 18-8 victory over the Vista Ridge Wolves. That's more bragging rights for the Patriots, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

One reason for the win was George Washington's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. Leading the way was Brooke Hunter with two.

George Washington will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Denver South at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th. As for Vista Ridge, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 25-0 victory against Smoky Hill on the 21st.
