Baseball Recap: West Iredell Takes a Loss

West Iredell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 5-2 to the Hickory Red Tornadoes. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Tornadoes this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-5 last Tuesday.

West Iredell saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Arrowood, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

West Iredell's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Hickory, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. West Iredell is set to challenge their familiar foe Foard at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hickory will face off against rival Statesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
