Volleyball Recap: Bethune Comes Up Short

Bethune was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holly Wildcats. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-16, 25-19, 23-25, 25-15.

Nora Wycoff paced Bethune's offense, picking up ten kills. Wycoff got some help from Sujeily Landaverde and her 17 assists. Paulina Reyes controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Bethune's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Holly, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their five-match losing streak.

Bethune has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Otis on the 16th. As for Holly, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against South Baca [Campo/Vilas/Pritchett] on the 18th.
