Basketball Game Preview: Overlake Owls vs. Vashon Island Pirates

The Overlake Owls will take on the Vashon Island Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Overlake will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Overlake fought the good fight in their overtime game against Granite Falls on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 43-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. While the Owls didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Tigers 14-8 in the first quarter.

Meanwhile, Vashon Island came up short against Life Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 49-40. The Pirates have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Overlake's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Vashon Island, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Everything came up roses for Overlake against Vashon Island in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, as the squad secured a 58-15 win. In that contest, Overlake amassed a halftime lead of 29-9, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
