Fossil Ridge extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They fell 28-21 to the Fort Collins Lambkins. On the bright side, the 21- point performance marked the SaberCats' highest-scoring game to date.

Despite the defeat, Fossil Ridge had strong showings from Eli Swanson, who picked up 166 receiving yards and a pair of scores, and Colton Jantz, who threw for 334 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75.7% of his passes.

As for Fort Collins, their record is now 4-1. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Fossil Ridge is ranked 85th).

Fort Collins' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack McKeon led the charge by rushing for 86 yards and a pair of TDs on only 12 carries. Justin Cranford was another key player, throwing for 187 yards and one touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Fossil Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 24-14 loss against Legacy on the 3rd. As for Fort Collins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 52-7 win against Horizon on the 3rd.
