Basketball Recap: Petersburg Takes a Loss

Petersburg came up into this matchup off a tough 23-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Haines Glacier Bears by a score of 50-48 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Vikings have suffered since January 20, 2024.

Petersburg has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Haines, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Petersburg will venture away from home to square off against Wrangell on Friday. Petersburg is facing Wrangell at the right time seeing as Wrangell is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Haines, they will head out on the road to take on Craig at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
