Baseball Recap: Hazelwood West Wins Going Away Against Mccluer North

Hazelwood West had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 14-run drubbing they dealt McCluer North on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Stars. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Stars recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Hazelwood West got a massive performance out of Alex Douglas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with six stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Douglas has become a key player for the Wildcats: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 9-18 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Hatton, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Hazelwood West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April.

Hazelwood West's victory bumped their record up to 14-18. As for McCluer North, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
