            Baseball Recap: Dunbar Poets vs. Edmondson-Westside Red Storm        
        
		
        
        
            Dunbar barely beat Edmondson-Westside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Poets blew past the Red Storm 14-4 on Friday. 14 seems to be a good number for the Poets as the  squad scooped up a  victory with the same number of  runs in their previous game.
 Griffin Wildey made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Wildey was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and one  stolen base. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played.
 In other batting news, Dunbar got a  massive  performance out of  Zion Foster, who  went 3-for-4 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.  Amanuel Seyoum was another key player,  going 3-for-4 with three  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base.
 Dunbar  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .600. That's the best  OBP they've posted all season.

The  win was  the third in a row for Dunbar, bringing their record up to 3-2. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Edmondson-Westside,  they are  on  a  nine-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.
 Looking ahead, Dunbar will square off against Patterson at 11:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The Clippers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.83  runs per game on average), something the Poets will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Edmondson-Westside, they will take on Lake Clifton at 3:45  p.m.  on Monday.
