Volleyball Recap: Smithsburg Takes a Loss

Smithsburg lost against Williamsport back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Leopards took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Smithsburg started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-21, 25-14, 25-19.

Smithsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Williamsport, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Smithsburg will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Boonsboro at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Williamsport, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Brunswick on the 22nd.
