Basketball Recap: Las Vegas Comes Up Short

Las Vegas was the 72-58 winner over Durango when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Las Vegas Wildcats took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Durango Trailblazers on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (60), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Durango got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Elijah Outlaw-Mcdaniels out in front who went 5 for 9 en route to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals. That's the most steals Outlaw-Mcdaniels has posted since back in December of 2023. Justin Morrow was another key player, going 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and six steals.

Las Vegas dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Durango, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 12-8.

Las Vegas has already played their next match, a 73-72 victory against Valley on the 24th. As for Durango, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 82-48 defeat against Centennial on the 24th.
