Basketball Recap: Paxton Victorious

Paxton saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 55-54 photo finish over the Headland Rams. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 583rd in Florida, while the Rams are ranked 156th in Alabama).

Paxton found their leader in freshman Cade Stewart, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stewart has scored all season. Wade Borgesen was another key player, putting up ten points.

Paxton's win bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Headland, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Paxton Bobcats challenge the Chipley Tigers at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Headland, they will be taking part in a tournament against Northside Methodist Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 26th.
