Basketball Recap: KIPP College Prep Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

KIPP College Prep had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They came out on top against the Idea Timberwolves by a score of 51-44. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 74-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead KIPP College Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Elijah Butts, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Butler, who scored 12 points.

When it comes to explaining why Idea lost, don't look at Tobias Hammett. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 7 on his way to 10 points and five boards. Sidy Koite was another key player, putting up nine points and seven rebounds.

KIPP College Prep's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.6 points per game. As for Idea, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.

KIPP College Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 100-36 defeat against Friendship Tech Prep Academy on the 14th. Idea has also already played their next game, a 56-25 win against BASIS on the 14th.
