Softball Recap: Conemaugh Township Comes Up Short

Conemaugh Township extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-10 in the process. They came up short against the Windber Ramblers, falling 15-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Olivia Mauzy was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run was her first of the season. Andie Hunsberger was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

As for Windber, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 9-4. They not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 25th (when they won 19-6).

On Windber's side, they let Nici Costlow and Angel James run wild. Costlow went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI, while James went 2-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Summer Campbell, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Conemaugh Township has already played their next match, a 12-1 loss against Northern Cambria on the 29th. As for Windber, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 3-3 draw against Chestnut Ridge on the 29th.
