Recap: Carthage Bulldogs vs. Center Roughriders
The Carthage Bulldogs lost against the Center Roughriders back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Carthage was dealt a 74-34 loss at the hands of Center. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Carthage in their matchups with Center: they've now lost seven in a row.
Center's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tim Johnson, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimmarion (Ja) Smith, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Carthage has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Center, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-9.
Carthage will be playing at home against Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chapel Hill has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 711 points over their last ten matches. Center does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
