Volleyball Recap: Lordstown Comes Up Short

Lordstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the St. John Fighting Herald. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Fighting Herald when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-15, 25-15.

Mia Giesey paced Lordstown's offense, picking up five kills. Giesey got some help from Kaycee Was and her eight assists. Was was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lordstown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for St. John, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lordstown is set to challenge their familiar foe Grand Valley at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. John will take on rival Chalker at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
