Basketball Recap: Evans Takes a Loss

Evans had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-3 to make it 11. They were beaten by the Anacoco Indians 55-4. The Eagles were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-4.

As for Anacoco, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0. They have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 36 points or more this season.

Anacoco found their leader in freshman Landon Tinsley, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Those ten boards set a new season-high mark for Tinsley. Caleb Taylor was another key player, putting up five points along with five assists and three steals.

Coming up, Evans is taking a road trip to challenge Leesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Anacoco, they will take on Negreet in a tournament on Thursday.
