Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Assabet Valley RVT). They blew past the Leicester Wolverines 11-1 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Aztecs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Andrew Talmo spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Assabet Valley RVT is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-11 otherwise.

Assabet Valley RVT's victory bumped their record up to 2-12. As for Leicester, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Assabet Valley RVT will venture away from home to take on North at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Aztecs are facing the Polar Bears at the right time seeing as the Polar Bears are stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for Leicester, they will take on Northbridge at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
