Basketball Game Preview: South San Antonio Bobcats vs. Jay Mustangs

South San Antonio is 0-4 against Jay since November of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bobcats will challenge the Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. One thing working in South San Antonio's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven contests.

South San Antonio is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Southwest: they outscored them in every quarter. The Bobcats enjoyed a cozy 60-43 win over the Dragons on Friday.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Jay). They blew past Southside 92-43 on Friday. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

South San Antonio better focus on containing Jayden Casiano and Alijah Hubbard as the pair were huge in Jay's win. Casiano shot 40% from the field on his way to 20 points in addition to seven assists and six steals, while Hubbard dropped a double-double with 22 points and ten boards. Those seven assists gave Casiano a new career-high. Adyn Rodriguez was another key player, putting up eight points along with 11 rebounds and five assists.

Jay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

South San Antonio's record is now 18-12. As for Jay, their record now sits at 12-13.

South San Antonio couldn't quite finish off Jay in their previous meeting on January 3rd and fell 56-54. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
