Basketball Recap: Captain Shreve Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Captain Shreve and Carencro squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Captain Shreve had to settle for second. They fell to the Carencro Bears 54-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gators came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 40th, while the Bears are ranked 131st).

Captain Shreve's defeat dropped their record down to 37-14. As for Carencro, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-25.

Captain Shreve does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carencro, they will face off against Alexandria on Tuesday. Alexandria is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.8 points per game this season.
