Basketball Recap: Calvary Chapel Academy Takes a Loss

Calvary Chapel Academy and Morningside Academy squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Calvary Chapel Academy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Morningside Academy Eagles by a score of 42-39. Calvary Chapel Academy was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Morningside Academy earlier this season, when they won 40-36.

Morningside Academy found their leader in sophomore Arianah Wallace, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. Wallace has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 18 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Emmilina Miller, who posted nine points along with six steals and five boards.

Calvary Chapel Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Morningside Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Calvary Chapel Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Morningside Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 62-34 win against Merritt Island Christian on the 8th.
