Volleyball Recap: Fernley Beats Sparks for Their Fourth Straight Win

Fernley entered their tilt with Sparks on Friday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Railroaders with a sharp 3-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Vaqueros also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2022.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Fernley took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-9, 25-10.

Trista Menesini paced Fernley's offense, picking up ten kills. Menesini got some help from Emma Masters and her 21 assists. Menesini was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Fernley's victory bumped their record up to 15-3. As for Sparks, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Looking ahead, Fernley will venture away from home to challenge Incline at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Sparks and Elko will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Railroaders are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
