Basketball Recap: West Springfield Takes a Loss

West Springfield played a tough match on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 67-27 defeat at the hands of the West Potomac Wolverines. The Spartans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-16.

West Potomac was led to victory by Abby Beddis and Olivia Jones. Beddis posted 17 points, while Jones earned 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Delores Harkless, who scored 11 points.

West Springfield has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for West Potomac, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Springfield will challenge Lake Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. West Springfield is facing Lake Braddock at the right time seeing as Lake Braddock is stuck on a 12-game losing streak. As for West Potomac, they will host South County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Potomac is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.5 points per game this season.
