Basketball Recap: Boardman Victorious

Harding typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Boardman proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 37-35 victory over the Harding Raiders. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Spartans also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Harding lost, don't look at Akeelha Barnes. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Barnes a new career-high in rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nadia McQueen, who posted five points and eight boards.

Boardman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season. As for Harding, they moved to 10-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Boardman will welcome Cardinal Mooney at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Harding, they will challenge Canfield at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
