It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Milledgeville Athletic Club ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They had just enough and edged the Augusta E Eagles out 58-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

When it comes to explaining why Augusta E lost, don't look at Jude Brouwer. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 30 points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Brouwer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Pete Heusel, who posted 15 points.

Milledgeville Athletic Club's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Augusta E, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Milledgeville Athletic Club will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Covington Academy at 7:00 p.m. As for Augusta E, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-56 defeat against Curtis Baptist on the 14th.
