Basketball Recap: Dixie Comes Up Short

Dixie lost against Valley View back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Dixie Greyhounds took a 74-64 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley View Spartans.

Valley View was led to victory by Ty Fritz and Brody Denny. Fritz dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards, while Denny went 7 for 14 en route to 24 points and five assists. Fritz is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Anthony Valenti, who posted seven points along with six boards and five steals.

Dixie's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Valley View, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2.

Dixie has already played their next contest, a 48-37 loss against Waynesville on the 21st. As for Valley View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 86-51 defeat against Margaretta on the 20th.
