Basketball Recap: Falls Lake Comes Up Short

Falls Lake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were dealt a 66-39 loss at the hands of the NCSSM: Durham Unicorns. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Unicorns this season, with their most recent defeat being a 59-49 loss back in January.

When it comes to explaining why Falls Lake lost, don't look at Jonathan Taylor- Hamilton. Despite the final result, he went 8-for-15 on his way to 22 points. That's the most points Taylor- Hamilton has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Camden Cooke, who earned six points.

NCSSM: Durham's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Caza, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine boards. Caza is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 56% in the last five games he's played. Ethann Burkett was another key player, going 8-for-13 to rack up 19 points.

Falls Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for NCSSM: Durham, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Falls Lake does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for NCSSM: Durham, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 68-60 victory against Wake Prep Academy on the 18th.
