Football Recap: Redlands East Valley Comes Up Short

Redlands East Valley suffered their closest defeat since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the JW North Huskies by a score of 39-36. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 38-35 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, Redlands East Valley still got an impressive performance from Vitela Isaac, who rushed for 196 yards and five TDs while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Thanks to that big game, Isaac is now up to 11 rushing touchdowns on the season.

DeNavyah Garcia had a dynamite game For JW North., rushing for 176 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 7.0 yards per carry. Garcia was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Justin Correa was in the mix too, providing JW North with two scores.

Redlands East Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for JW North, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, Redlands East Valley will welcome Citrus Valley at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Wildcats will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 38.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for JW North, they will challenge Rancho Verde at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The game will give the Huskies their first taste of in-conference action this season.
