Baseball Recap: Athens Drive Comes Up Short

Athens Drive came into this matchup off a tough eight-run defeat on Wednesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Felton Grove Galaxy by a score of 3-1 on Friday.

Athens Drive got a good showing from Genkai Sharman, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Athens Drive saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Mantz, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Athens Drive's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, Athens Drive and Felton Grove will both be playing East Chapel Hill the next time they take the field. The Galaxy will host the Wildcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Jaguars will head out to face them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
