Soccer Recap: Mountain Brook Comes Up Short

If Mountain Brook was feeling good fresh off their 9-1 takedown of Gadsden City last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mountain Brook Spartans took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vestavia Hills Rebels on Monday. The Spartans were not able to make up for their loss to the Rebels from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Carson Hahn and Thompson Jones scored both of Mountain Brook's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 24 goals.

Mountain Brook's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-1. As for Vestavia Hills, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 4-6-1 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Brook will welcome John Carroll Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. John Carroll Catholic will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each match than the last. As for Vestavia Hills, they will square off against Bob Jones at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
