Football Game Preview: Pueblo Central Wildcats vs. Pueblo East Eagles + How To Watch

Pueblo Central is 1-9 against Pueblo East since November of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m.

Pueblo Central is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 50 points back in September, they were much more limited against Canon City on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 42-2 loss at the hands of the Tigers. The Wildcats were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Pueblo East). They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 62-6 victory over Sierra. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now won five in a row.

Pueblo East's win came from a few key players Pueblo Central will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dion Allsworth, who threw for 175 yards and three touchdowns on perfect 5-for-5 passing, and also punched in one rushing score. Those three passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Dolphka Lewis was another key player, rushing for 102 yards and a pair of scores.

Pueblo East's defense made their presence known, laying out Jaydan Filloon 5.5 times. Leading the way was Noah Van Hee with two sacks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.5 total tackles per game. Pueblo East received some extra help from Logan Trujillo, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Pueblo Central's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Pueblo East, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
