League recap: Franklin dominating on the mound for Vernon

Mike Franklin was the best pitcher in North Jersey - American this week, leading Vernon. He struck out nine batters this week.

Pope John Xxiii had a successful week, as it won three total games to lead the league. Pope John XXIII beat the Vikings 4-0 and Mount Olive 3-2.

Vernon's pitching was especially stingy this week, allowing 31 hits and 11 walks to lead the league in both categories.

The Vikings' Franklin led the league in strikeouts this week with nine. He's fourth in the league with 15 total strikeouts.



Vernon's Kevin Ufferfilge was locked in this week, and led the league with a .455 average (5-for-11) over that span. His average for the season stands at .333, which ranks second in the league. Ufferfilge has 24 hits total this season.
