Basketball Recap: Platteview Trojans vs. Waverly Vikings
Platteview suffered their biggest defeat since January 19, 2024 on Monday. They were dealt a 55-27 loss at the hands of the Waverly Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Vikings are ranked 11th).

Alexys Mandel and Brooklyn Stehlik certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Mandel on her way to 13 points, while Stehlik posted two points along with 19 boards and four steals. The dominant performance gave Stehlik a new career-high in steals.
Waverly can attribute much of their success to Annie Harms, who earned 18 points. Another player making a difference was Breeley King, who scored eight points.
