Basketball Recap: Oak Harbor Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Oak Harbor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Fostoria Redmen as they made off with a 60-35 victory. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 191st, while the Redmen are ranked 515th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Redmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alycia Middlebrooks, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyrique Johnson, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Oak Harbor has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Fostoria, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oak Harbor will take on Genoa Area at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Fostoria, they will square off against Maumee at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Fostoria is facing Maumee at the right time seeing as Maumee is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
