Softball Recap: Ore City Takes a Loss

Ore City might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Union Grove who claimed the real prize. The Rebels fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-8 on Tuesday.

Brooke Byrd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Ore City has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17-1 record this season. As for Union Grove, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

As of now, neither Ore City nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
