Baseball Game Preview: Mohonasen Warriors vs. Niskayuna Silver Warriors

The Mohonasen Warriors will square off against the Niskayuna Silver Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mohonasen is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Mohonasen is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They came out on top against Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake by a score of 8-3. The win was familiar territory for the Warriors, who have now won three contests in a row.

Daniel Corsoro was excellent, earning two RBI, one run, and two stolen bases. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Tommy Gianatasio was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Niskayuna won against South Glens Falls on Monday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Saturday. The Silver Warriors walked away with a 5-2 victory over Averill Park. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Silver Warriors.

Mohonasen's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Niskayuna, their win bumped their record up to 15-6.

Mohonasen beat Niskayuna 3-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
